Hi everyone. My name is Abby. I'm about 1 year old. I recently moved to Minnesota from Arkansas by way of one of the puppy mill rescue efforts. Some nice RAGOM volunteers gave me a hug, a bath and a name. I never had any of these things before so I'm forever grateful. Thanks RAGOM for saving me. Now I wear a pretty red collar with a shiny gold RAGOM tag, so I'll never have to worry about being loved again! This past week I had to stay at this nice veterinary clinic in Richfield for a few days until I could get spayed and have a dental done. Prior to my dental my mouth really hurt. The dog-tor said I have gingivitis and bad tartar build up. Now my smile is good as new, if only felt better I could smile. I have to go back to the dog-tor tomorrow because I started peeing blood today. My foster Mom and Dad are real worried about me and all my furry foster sisters and brother keep bringing me dog toys and chewies to make me feel better. In my old living place (which I don't want to ever mention again) I wasn't cared for. My underside is missing most of its fur due to flea bites. I also have some scars and scabs all over my body. I'm pretty underweight and I currently have these nasty things living in me called roundworms. Foster parents have to give me a second de-wormer next weekend to get rid of them for GOOD! I'm also on meds for my skin infection from all the nasty bites and irritations. I had some blood tests done on me last week but the results aren't back yet. Since I'm from Arkansas and they didn't keep me safe from ticks, it is possible I could have a tick-borne disease, which is still treatable. Some of my dog friends that traveled with me have these tick diseases and they are doing really well. I also have ear infections in both ears so I"m on meds for them too. I have had two baths and could still use more. The good news is I wag my tail ALL the time! I am a velcro dog and want lots of pets and attention. I don't ask for much in return. I love to play with toys and walk nice on a leash. I spent a long time last night laying on foster Dad's feet and then got to sleep in a soft mesh kennel in the bedroom with foster Mom and Dad so I didn't cry or get scared. I have only had one accident in the house so I'm learning quick. My foster sister Autumn tells me she was from a puppy mill too and had scars and scabs just like me. I dream someday I can have a healthy, pretty fur coat like her! Today my golden foster brother Stetson and I went to the pet store! Wow!!! I never knew there were so many tasty things out there for us doggies! Foster Mom and Dad bought two bags of bones and various chewing items. YUM! I can't wait. What they don't know is while Dad was picking bones out and had his back to me I snuck a biscuit out of the box and ate it, ha ha ha. Shhhh....don't tell. It will be our secret. At the pet store I walked very nice on a leash and met a few people and dogs. I'm not a typical puppy mill dog, because I"m not scared of everything. Today I also had one of these things called Frosty Paws. They are SO tasty! And the cold felt good on my sore mouth. And then later I saw my foster parents filling these red Kong toys with peanut butter. MMMM...I've never had that before either but it smells so I good I started to drool.
So if you are looking for a young, loving, velcro golden, then I'm totally your girl. I will be at the picnic next weekend so come on out and meet me. Pretty soon I will be healthy and good as new. Until then I am dreaming of a forever home. Is that with you? If so email placement
