10/15/2013:

Hello Ragom friends, my name is Alfredo! I have had a whirlwind of new experiences since Sunday, when I made a long drive with two nice people. They brought me to a new place with two other nice people and a friendly black dog, they are my foster Mom, Dad and brother.

I don't know if you all are aware of the crazy things that are going on in the world!! We took a long drive, the longest I have ever taken, to a place with big, tall buildings! When we got here, FM, FD and brother brought me into a big, fenced in area which is right where I live! The whole area, which has some plants and gravel, is there for dogs to play!! People can go there too, but FM says that the building we live in made it especially for us dogs! Wow, that is cool! I have already met several 4 legged friends and, guess what, once we get to sniff each other's butts, we all like each other!!

When we go inside the building where we live (me too!), FM pushes a button, a door opens and we step into a little room. When we step out, we are very close to the place that I now live!! FM says it is called an apartment. Will wonders never cease!!!???

The best part is that FM and Dad give me bowls of yummy food several times a day. Usually I like to use my nose to cover my food. The reason is a secret, but I don't think I have to do it anymore. In this apartment place, if you are hungry, you get fed!! FM and Dad also love to do this mushy thing they call cuddling! I wasn't so sure at first, but now, I think it is nice. I figured out that, if I walk up nicely and just lean on one of them a bit, they will pet me to my heart's content!! I don't think that FM and FD must have much other stuff to do, because they like to do that cuddle thing a lot!!

The only bad thing, so far, was another car trip. We went to a place called the Vet, where they did a lot of poking and prodding. I have not had to do this for quite a while, and I haven't really missed it! But, they were nice to me while they did all that stuff, so that helps. Now I have some medicine to help my gurgling tummy and they gave me stuff so I won't get sick. I guess it was worth it, I think...

I heard FM tell FD that I am a "sweet gentle soul". That made me happy because they already "get me"! They said I just need manners, lots of love, a few pounds put on and something called "socialization". It all sounds good!! Bring it on Foster Parents!! I am already liking the Golden life!

FM also said that, when I go to live with my forever family, which is the goal, there are a few things we know I will need (this may change as I become more comfortable):

  • Older kids only,  I forget sometimes and might jump up on the little ones.
  • Another confidant dog, not a puppy, to help me learn what I have been missing for a while.

I know we will adapt that list as I get used to it here. If you would like to meet me, FM says you should ask your Placement Advisor, they are very, very smart.

FM says we are going to do some of that socializing thing this coming Saturday, in a place called Shakopee. I wonder if I could walk there? Riding in that car makes me shake a bit!!

This adventure has been both scary and fun! I really think I will get the hang of those manner things quite quickly, as well as that socialization. I aim to please, cause that's how I roll!!
