We are happy to introduce you to Anna 13-027. Anna is about 9 years old and weighs 110 lbs, but she should weigh about 55- 60. Anna came to us a little over a week ago and was very shy and a little scared over the last few days. She has really come out of her shell. She is such a sweet, loving, Velcro dog, and as her personality comes out, she can be quite entertaining.

Anna comes with a few health problems that are being treated but nothing major. She is currently on some antibiotics for an infection, and we are treating her right ear for an infection as well. Her most obvious problem is her weight, and we are working with her diet and exercise. She will be heading back to the vet next week to see how she is doing with her infections, and we hope she has lost a little weight.

Hi, everyone. I am Anna. I just want someone to love me. I miss my mom who got sick and couldn't take care of me anymore. This house they brought me to has 2 cats and a young male dog - what an interesting group. The big cat doesn't seem to mind me, and we pretty much ignore each other. The little cat is crazy, and I like her, just not sure what to do with her yet, so I sniff at her and sometimes bark a little until told, "No barking in the house." The resident dog is young, and I am OK with him but would rather have Foster Mom and Dad all to myself. I like all the butt scratches, ear and belly rubs they give me.

Foster Mom works from home and we go up and down the stairs all day long. It takes me a little while to get up and down the stairs sometimes, but I am doing it and get lots of love for it, so it must be good. I get to play ball also. It is very tiring. I will only play ball every other day because I am so tired. I am breathing a little better since being on the medications and am moving around so much. Foster Mom said it is nice that I am not panting when I am just laying around. Back to Foster Mom. She told me she has more to write.

So, here is some more info about Anna:

  • She rides very well in the car.
  • She walks well on a leash with no pulling.
  • If left off leash (yes, I put the leash on the wrong dog one morning), she will wander away. Fortunately, she is easy to catch.
  • She knows basic commands: wait, sit, come.
  • She likes to be outside.
  • She is happy laying at your feet.
