Hi folks, it's me Annie. Guess what, I'm back in RAGOM land. I was adopted a few months ago but things did not work out for me as I had hoped. Here's what happened and why I am now looking for a new forever family to call my own.......
I was invited to a graduation party with lots of people and a resident dog. I did well at the party (love, love the people) but I was a bit nervous around all the noise and commotion so I hung out inside for most of the time. When I finally went back outside I growled at the resident dog who kept getting too close to me and well, since he did not move away in time, I bit him on the nose. I had met him before and we were fine together so I guess the stress of so many people and and all the noise at the party just got the best of me. My new family did not feel like they had enough experience to work with me so they decided to return me to RAGOM.
See I did not have proper socialization before I came into RAGOM, I lived my entire life in an outdoor kennel run by myself. I need proper introductions with other dogs and sometimes need help in remembering how to meet and greet them and what are good manners. When I lived at my foster home I got along great with Lacy, the resident dog but she and I worked things out and foster mom was really good about making sure we were ok together. I'm fine meeting dogs when we are out walking, just have to make sure we get to sniff each other first....don't like it when they get in my face....but hey, do you humans like it when someone you've never met comes up and gets right in your face...I don't think so!! Well, me neither.
So now I am hanging out in boarding at Stone Mountain where the staff is really nice to me and I'm waiting for a foster home to take me in. I'd really rather be in a home so I could hang out on the couch, watch TV and go for walks when ever I wanted but right now I'm ok to be in boarding. The staff loves me and tells me everyday what a sweet, beautiful girl I am. Many of our RAGOM volunteers stop by to walk me and some even buy me treats but there is nothing like living in a home.
I do need an experienced owner who is able to work with me on proper doggie introductions. In return I promise to give you lots of love and attention and will be your new best friend. I can live with another dog, we just need to make sure it is a good fit but I'd also be very happy to be your one and only....more pets and loves for me!! I am available to meet potential adoptive families so do not hesitate to contact your placement adviser if you are looking for a sweet lab girl. We can make special arrangements for me to meet you even if I'm still hanging out in boarding....cause I'm one very special girl who is looking for one very special forever home.....could that be you???
Bye for now, your friend Annie.
