Annie (Annie 07-525) [1]

Annie/Bea is doing well. She was the first dog to see Dr. G when the Goldens all arrived from their long trip from the Arkansas puppy mill where she was a breeding dog.  Bea's papers say she was born in 2002, but she looks more like she's only two, not almost five.

Beatrice has an open wound on her leg and will need surgery. She is on an antibiotic two times a day.  She was given IV fluids during the intake. Both eyes are very gunky and she is on drops twice a day in both eyes. We won't be able to tell if she has eye enthropia until the infection clears up. She is very thin and doesn’t have much hair due to the lack of  nutrition. She didn’t get a bath because of the open wound, so I will hand wash her today.

When Bea arrived at my home last night, she ate both dogs' food in their bowls. I brought home another female that is pregnant. We didn’t want to send her to boarding while we wait to find an open foster home for her.

Bea drank water and slept quietly on several towels in an open pen. She walks slowly on a buckle collar and 6-foot leash, did her business as soon as she was on the lawn. She ate a big breakfast--likes scrambled eggs. She is so thin and I can feed her up until 8 pm on Tuesday, pending her Wednesday surgery.
