Bailey is a 10-year-old purebred female, darker red although not as dark as my older golden. Her latest vet records say she weighs 57 pounds, she looks bigger than that so we'll update that fact after we go to the vet. She had a traumatic separation from her family, followed by an hour or so in a strangers SUV, then she got to meet my two guys....all went smoothly during the introductions. She explored the fenced back yard while we unloaded her stuff and exchanged paperwork, and has been exploring the inside of my house ever since. Her records show that she is housebroken and so far that has been shown to be true. She came with several toys which are being saved for her either when she goes to her permanent home or later after things settle down and they are less likely to be ruined by my young rascal. Her crate is in the dining room in case she decides she needs a familiar spot. I already know she does stairs as she has followed me to every part of my house but now, as I sit and type this, she's nowhere around...probably looking out one of the doors and pondering what has happened to her this afternoon or perhaps she's just lounging and listening to Public Radio play Chirstmas music. I'll update more as I get to know her and as she learns from my guys that the humans in this house are all okay.
(PS:)
Hours make a difference. Bailey is already relaxing and enjoying hanging out with my own dogs. She ate dinner heartily and seems to be fitting right in. More updates after our vet appointment next week. (That's Bailey on the left.)
