This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Bella is a 7-year-old spayed female with a beautiful, shiny red coat. Bella has not seen a vet for a couple of years, so we will be getting a checkup and microchipped before she is ready for adoption.

Bella was surrendered by a family that loved her since she was 8 weeks old. But, now the family has a second child that is three and Bella is not accepting of toddler activity and nipped at the toddler. She did not break the skin, but the family understands for the safety of the toddler and Bella, it will be best if she is rehomed. Bella's family also relates that Bella does not like to be rushed upon by other dogs and did bite one of two dogs who rushed her while she was on a tie-out on family property. She was cleared as not vicious because she was tied and could not get away. Bella has let my senior Golden know when she is too close by growling at her, but has not even tried to escalate further than a growl.

Bella's family sent a letter saying her name is Bella Blue, but she responds to Bella. She prefers a Frisbee to the tennis ball, but in a pinch will accept a tennis ball. She loves to go for walks, loves to swim, and will counter surf or get in the garbage if the opportunity presents itself. Bella walks well with a flat collar and Gentle Leader, but we are using a special collar and slip lead for walking while she is in foster care. She responds to the word walk, does not return barks from other dogs, and pretty much ignored anyone we met while we were out. She loves to sniff while we walk or rub her face in the grass. Bella loves the groomer and does not mind having her nails clipped by her humans. According to her family, Bella has free roam and when alone prefers to be in her open kennel. She loves to cuddle on the sofa with her human or on the bed. Bella rides very well per her family and she did very well when I picked her up to come to her foster home.

Bella has been in my home only since Saturday, but it is obvious she has been well loved and cared for. She is very respectful and so far offers the Golden paw, gently puts her upper half on your lap for loving, goes and lays down when asked, comes when called, sits on command, takes a treat nicely, and sleeps in her kennel without a peep.

Bella will not be on the web for very long, so if you are interested, please let your placement advisor know.
