Profile

Hello, my name is Ben. I am male purebred Golden & very dark red in color. I weigh about 65 lbs & have an average body. I am 2 years old & just went to the vet today to be neutered. I also have 2 ear infections & 2 eye infections but the medication is working well already. I am all up to date on my shots & have a micro chip & have taken heartworm preventative & frontline this month.

I came from a large farm that had lots of other dogs. I was terrified on Sunday when I got to my foster home. Then the next day I was able to walk around outside with my foster siblings & got along really well with them. I have NOT been around cats so I'm not sure what I would do. I am a very dog social but need to work on my human bonding. I sometimes will come up to my foster mom & other times I retreat & cower on the ground. She is very nice to me but I am not sure I can trust her yet. I think I want to be petted but then I am unsure. Once she starts petting me I am ok, it's just the initial touch.

I have a 2 legged foster brother that is 4 years old, whom I like very much. He gives me hugs & pats my back & I have no problem with this. My foster dad, well let's just say I am sort of afraid of him, but he is being very patient & gentle with me & each day I am getting better at knowing humans are kind & gentle. I do like to be outside & walk around with my foster pals. I have rolled over for a belly rub once & even licked foster mom. I need to work on a few "dog things", like how to play with toys, balls, eat treats & walk on a leash (I lay down). I do not jump at all and only bark when I am startled by someone coming around a corner, etc. (I wouldn't bite, just a big deep bark!). Well, I am taking it easy the rest of the night, I had a big surgery today & am still very out of it.
