Profile
Audrey is a 3 y.o. puppy mill dog that arrived from TN this weekend. She came in with 4 other dogs she is the youngster in the bunch and the most shy and timid. We are thinking she wasn't producing puppies or had small litters that is why the breeder gave her up. She and all the other dogs had a bath with a couple of sudsing as they all were very stinky. She has never lived in a house, she was kept outside in a fenced in area with other dogs. She is absolutely gorgeous, they called her a "California" blond. She is very petite at 43 lbs but needs to put on at least 10 lbs. She will not grow any bigger in height though. She is UTD on all vaccinations and will be going in this week to get spayed and micro-chipped and then will be ready to start searching for her forever home. I do not have a physical fence but she is going to the bathroom on leash. She is navigating the doorways and stairs. She really likes soft dog toys which is surprising coming from a mill. It is very cute when she picks them up and carries them around. I was playing fetch with our little yorkie and Audrey joined in to retrieve the toy first. Her safe place seems to be under our kitchen table but she has crawled into our yorkie's 3x3 pen in the kitchen. We also have discovered she likes to watch the TV. She has also started to roam around the house on her own checking things out. She has gotten up on the furniture too. And has put her paws up on the counter. She is eating great from her bowl and out of our hands.
Some things that will be required for her forever home are:
1) another dog to show her the ropes.2) a fenced in yard 3) no young kids as she is skittish of fast movements and loud noises.4) patience and training to be the best she can be.
I think she will come around nicely as she is young and already starting to feel comfortable in the house and around people. If you are an approved applicant and would like to meet her contact your placement advisor.
