Briar 07-104 [1]

3/24/07: Briar has arrived at foster care and is doing well. There were a lot of tears shed by the surrendering mom. Briar is a well mannered and socially adjusted dog whom the owner loved dearly, but could no longer give him the time that he needs. She has a heavy work schedule and couldn't fit Briar in. There are only so many hours in a day I guess.Briar is a medium sized intact male Golden, 19 months of age and in very good physical condition. He weighs approximately 60 lbs and will go to the vet on Monday for a r071check up and update on his vaccinations. He also has to be neutered. I will know his exact weight then.Briar has only been here for a few hours, but he is adjusting well with our resident dogs. There is the normal posturing by the resident male Golden,but nothing that won't work itself out. Briar just takes it with a grain of salt and keeps right on playing. Took him for a long walk with the other dogs and things went well. He is just a sweet dog that some family with children could love to death. Briar likes everyone. There is no aggression, protecting of toys, or food problems. He loves playing fetch with a tennis ball. I think he would go all day if you let him. The only problem I have seen in this short time is he likes to jump, but we are going to work on that in the next few days. He is housebroken, knows sit and come by voice and hand signals ,and walks well on a lead.I will have more to report after our visit to the vet. Whoever adopts this boy is going to have one swell dog!
