Little Cami  arrived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa last Saturday from Fargo, ND, thanks to a GReat team of transport volunteers! She has ridden very nicely in the back-seat of the car without a kennel or leash.

Since her arrival, Cami has been a very busy girl! She met our two resident dogs, four cats, and 12 year old daughter and learned to walk VERY nicely with the Gentle Leader, met 5 neighborhood dogs and numerous neighbors at an ice cream social, and went to the vet today. She has been a perfectly behaved dog on all occasions.

Cami is a petite, polite, and perky young gal. She weighs 34 pounds. The vet estimated her age at 9 months (she was found as a stray in the Fargo area), so she has been assigned a birth date of 12/1/2008. The vet's best guess is she is a mix with an Australian Shepherd, with a fair amount of white hair on her underside, including her paws. She is now up-to-date on all shots, micro-chipped, and is being treated for an ear infection. Cami is scheduled to be spayed tomorrow and have her rear dew claws removed.

From the foster parents' view, the nicest thing about her is she is totally housetrained!  She also enjoys playing with our 5-year old G/R, Maren  and her favorite spot is the couch that most of the other fosters always found so inviting. She has made herself at home very quickly, and it has been fun to see her go from being a tired, scared, shy girl when she first arrived to being a happy little golden in just a matter of days. She does not need crating and sleeps in the bedroom or on the family room couch.

Cami may not be a PB but has the heart and soul of golden.  She has a very sweet personality and beautiful, medium gold GR thick fur with a bushy, golden tail.  For a puppy, her personality is very mild and calm.  We will add an update after her spaying tomorrow!!  Contact your placement advisor for more information!!
