Carter is an 8 y.o. not neutered male that was found abandoned at a trailer park up north. He was in a shelter for a few weeks before coming into Ragom. He has a lame lt back leg that looked like it needed to be amputated. He met with a Vet on Monday and upon further examination it was discovered that he had a large mass that was eating away at his ankle bone. He also came in with a cough that was initially thought to be kennel cough but the vet had done an chest x-ray and he has some questionable spots on his lungs. When they biopsied his mass they also found an enlarged lymph node. We are awaiting the biopsy results which should be back at the end of this week or the beginning of nest week. His leg is all bandaged up as you can see in the picture and he leaves it alone. He is kinda smelly and I was hoping to give him a bath but with the bandage he cannot have one. The vet said the smell is more from the necrotic tissue around his ankle so a bath probably wouldn't help much. It is pretty evident that his leg has been lame for some time as he moves around beautifully on his 3 good legs. He can do a full flight a stairs and get up on furniture. He is housebroken. He loves to have a toy in his mouth, doesn't chew on inappropriate items, doesn't counter surf, and pretty much an all round easy going dog. He is definitely a velcro dog. Carter is unavailable at this time until we find out the outcome of his biopsy.
