Meet Champ; this handsome 11 month old male, golden retriever mix came to our home yesterday from a shelter in Iowa.  Isn't he beautiful?  At first glance, he looks like a purebred golden but his black whiskers might suggest that he is a mix.   We estimate that he weighs about 65 lbs, appears to be in great health and is up-to-date on his shots.  We will bring him to the vet this week for a formal check-up but we are happy to say he is already neutered.

Champ is very respectful to both fellow dogs and humans.  He gets along well with our two resident dogs and appropriately met other dogs at the groomer today.   His disposition is very content and easy going. I am pleasantly surprised as a puppy he already knows basic commands of sit, lay down and will give you a high five when you hold your hand up….such a smart boy!  He slept through the night without a peep and hasn't had any accidents in the house.

Champ doesn't jump up and loves to play with our two kids ages 7 and 11.  I think he would do well with people of all ages.
