This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Say hello to RAGOM's newest southern gentleman, Chance. He came to RAGOM with several other dogs from a shelter in Alabama. Prior to arriving with us in Fargo, Chance spent several weeks at a boarding facility in Minneapolis where he had the opportunity to receive vet care as well as socializing with other dogs and humans. During the initial vetting progress Champ did test positive for heartworm. Over the next several months, he will be receiving the standard treatment, starting with antibiotics followed by a series of three injections. Although he will be busy going through this treatment, he is available to meet interested forever families. It won't take long for you to fall in love with this sweet boy.

Very little is known about his past, but it's obvious he has been under socialized as he is scared. He warmed up to us rather quickly and gets along great with our two resident dogs-his tail wags as he explores our house or if they go outside to romp in the snow. Our vet feels he is 3-4 years old. Although he gets a little nervous at first, he does ride well in the car and walked on a leash into the clinic. He weighs 52 pounds but needs to gain a few more.

As far as a forever home, Chance will need to live in a home with a fence and another dog. Being a little scared and unsure of himself at times, it is important for him to have another dog to show him the ropes. As far as children, they will need to be old enough to understand that he is scared and needs time to feel comfortable and can get nervous with lots of commotion.

If you think you can provide a home for this cute boy, please contact your placement advisor.
