Charlie 09-077 [1]

Welcome to RAGOM - Charlie 09-077!  

Charlie arrived at my house this afternoon.  He spent the past two weeks at a shelter in Brainerd where he was surrendered.  We don't know too much about him, but he was very happy to be out of the shelter!  We think he is a Golden Retriever mix (maybe with cocker spaniel).  He's small - about 55 pounds - but very strong.  It was noted that he lived with other dogs, cats and kids.  He met with my Sophie (Cowgirl 08-401), and they were fine but he doesn't like to share attention with her. 

We're learning things about Charlie but here's what I know so far:

• He has a very sweet (and exuberant) disposition.  Right now he's settling in and getting to know our routine.  He loves all people and wants a lot of attention right now.  He likes to be with people.
• He knows basic commands - sit, come, stay, down, and shake.
• He is not crate trained but we're working on it.
• He does not walk well on a leash but we're learning.
• He jumps up because he's excited and happy but gets down on command.  We'll be working on that too.

After we visit the vet and he's is checked out and neutered, I will have some more recommendations as to what kind of "furever" home he will be looking for.  So please have patience and I'll update as soon as I know more. Stay tuned!
