Chester was picked up as a stray and was taken immediately to a local vet clinic for care and evaluation due to his condition. Chester weighed 41.7 pounds and was put on cephalexin (500mg) and vetropolycin for an eye infection. Chester is not yet neutered, but has been fully vaccinated and is Heartworm negative.
Despite his very poor physical condition, Chester still has the heart of a Golden! He was bathed and getting TLC from the staff at the shelter who reported his fabulous temperament and darling ways. He loves stuffed toys and seeks affection from everyone. The staff guessed his age at 8-10 years, but that is just an estimate, of course.
Chester arrived in the Twin Cities this afternoon, and many RAGOM volunteers have squeezed this transport into their Thanksgiving Day holiday schedule to get Chester into RAGOM's care before his time was up at the shelter.
