Hello world!  Sunny and his buddy, Brody 11-051, were welcomed into RAGOM from an overcrowded shelter in North Dakota that was being forced to euthanize dogs to make room.  Our fantastic transport team made lightning-fast arrangements to get these fellows safely into their foster homes.  Big puppy kisses to all who were a part of making that happen!

This special boy is about 4 months old and weighs in at a hefty 37 pounds.  He looks Golden for the most part, but it wouldn’t surprise me to find out he had a little extra something in there for spice.  The toes on three of his feet are white and he has a white blaze on his chest.  His back legs are very awkward, with knock-knees and feet splayed out to the sides.  The vet checked him over and didn’t find any specific orthopedic issues, but we’ll be keeping a careful eye on him.  He is up-to-date on his vaccinations and scheduled for his neuter next Tuesday.

Sweet Sunny found his forever home in an unexpected place -- at a gas station in Clear Lake when he crawled into my car for a ride to Des Moines.  We weren’t looking for a dog. We weren’t even looking for another foster (I had told the kids we were going to take a break for vacation once we found our other foster, Gabe 10-337, his family).  Despite all that, Sunny found his way to us.  We love his mellow nature.  He is super cuddly, but loves to play with Gabe, too.  Within a couple of hours of being in the house, he had accidentally pulled my favorite lamp off the end table and broken it, and chewed a hole in my new kitchen rug.  We are going to hold him to a lifetime of reparations for these losses, including frequent snuggles, millions of kisses, and lots of playtime! When a guy makes that much of a mark on your life that quickly, you know he is something special {wink}!

Along with his life as a homeless stray, Sunny is ditching his name, and has now been christened Clyde.   It is with great joy I say, “Hello, Clyde.  Welcome home.”
