Dewey 04-070 [1]

Dewey is a puppy mill Golden Retriever from Missouri. He came to Minneapolis with 2 brothers, Hewey 04-069 and Lewey 04-071. Dewey and his brother Lewey are currently being treated for Juvenile Cellulitis (puppy strangles). JC is NOT contagious and the symptoms are usually noticed in puppies 4 weeks to 4 months of age and lasting approximately 2 weeks. The darkness around his nose and eyes are some of the symptoms of JC. There are no long term effects besides localized hair loss - in some cases. Dewey's treatment is 1/2 tablet of prednisone and 1 capsule of cephalexin every 12 hours. He will be going to the vet for a follow-up appointment this weekend.

The puppies are very intelligent and have a sweet disposition.
