Diamond is a 1.5-year-old female Golden/Lab mix that came to RAGOM via the State of Minnesota on 2/9/13 along with her litter mate, Phoenix. The dogs were rescued from a small shed that was described as an “outhouse full of urine and feces.” They were housed in two separate cages that had metal grate floors. Both dogs were debilitated from malnutrition, dehydration and lack of free movement and exercise. Phoenix could not even stand up.
Despite her condition, Diamond was happy and playful when she came into our care, but she soon took a turn for the worse. On 2/16 we brought her to the emergency room, where the vets diagnosed a possible blockage in her stomach. During surgery the doctors removed 36 inches of dead intestinal tissue. Because Diamond’s immune system is compromised, she is struggling more than usual to recover from the surgical procedure. To make things worse (if that is possible), she has Parvovirus. On a positive note, the sweet little peanut is making progress in her fight to live.

RAGOM is grateful for any donations you can give to help us help Diamond continue her fight. We believe she can beat this, and it’s our hope that she can soon return home, where she can heal and grow strong. In the meantime, her medical bills are piling up.
Diamond is a “diamond in the rough,” and she deserves her forever home! If you can find it in your heart to donate a few dollars, or even $325 for the sponsorship level, Diamond will send you puppy kisses.
Please make your donation today through the RAGOM Shop [2] .
