Dick/Valentino 07-047 [1]

8/13/07: Valentino has been staying with us for a week now - what a great dog this guy is. He is still a puppy, born November 19, 2006 and is appropriately named because he is a handsome devil with his good looks and “English Cream” colored coat. He weighs about 70 pounds now and may put on another 5 more pounds as he fully matures.

Tino was originally named Dick and as an 11 week old puppy, was surrendered to RAGOM. He was adopted almost immediately and renamed Valentino. He knows his name as Tino and answers to it every time. Tino was recently returned to RAGOM because of an illness in the family. His surrendering family had 4 kids and a senior dog and it is obvious that he was well cared for, trained and loved. It had to be very hard for them to give up such a sweet dog.

Tino knows his name and how to sit, stay, come and heel. If you throw a tennis ball for him he’ll retrieve it for you. He walks pretty well on a leash next to you. He’s doing great for his age, although Tino would benefit from going to an intermediate level obedience class to polish his skills. He is playful and well socialized. Tino has met the neighbor’s kids and also 6-8 other dogs in the neighborhood, all with good results.

He’s very mellow for his age, just wants to be with you and follows you from room to room. We are enjoying being Tino’s foster.
