Earl 13-162 [1]

I am excited to introduce Earl (of Duke and Earl). They arrived yesterday and were full of wagging tails. Earl is a 4-year-old purebred Golden Retriever whose curls, thick coat and stocky body make him look like a teddy bear. He can proabably stand to lose a few more pounds than his brother, but more exercise and good nutrition should do the trick.

The dogs came to us with updated vet records and good information, so we know they were loved and cared for. The owner suffers from arthritis and was getting ready for foot surgery and realized that the dogs wouldn't get the care they needed as well as the walks they needed, so RAGOM stepped up to help.

Earl seems to act like the younger brother, seeming to take a little longer to settle down and relax. He loves any attention given to him and seems to want to stay close to the humans.

Earl has loved the many brushing sessions and asked for more, more, more! He knows sit, lie down, and stay. He likes to put his paws up on everything to see what is happening, so we need to work on his manners. He even tried to look up on the gas stove while I was cooking dinner! No singed paw, but it was close.

He met our resident dog and kids (8,11,13) without issues. He seems super sweet and happy. The dogs are used to being crated during the day and night. They will sleep in their crates at night and I expect to crate them while we are gone. We are looking forward to getting to know these two lovable dogs and to help them find their forever homes. I will update after our visit to the vet on Friday.
