Ed (EJ 07-627) [1]

11/18/07: EJ came to us last Sunday and he has settled in wonderfully with our family. EJ is a gorgeous flat coat Golden and I'm guessing about 65-70#. EJ is neutered and about 16 months old.

EJ is well-behaved in the house, although he is a youngster and active. He respects the baby gate. He was very timid upon meeting his foster siblings, Holly and Marbles. There was one "row" with Holly, but Holly started it. EJ avoids my cats, as he is rightfully afraid of them.

EJ loves to go for walks. I walk him on a split leash with Holly and with a Gentle Leader on. He quickly figured out how to walk and not get tangled (Holly saw to that!). I have had him off leash in the yard and he is very attentive to me. He likes to chase sticks and balls, but hasn't learned to bring them back to me.

EJ likes my children (7 & 10), but is a little rambunctious with them. EJ's worst habit is jumping on me and the kids. We are working diligently with the "Off" command. He is very excited when we get home. He has had no accidents (he also is not a leg lifter, yeah!). I have not heard him bark. EJ doesn't seem to have any separation or anxiety issues. Just very active.

I would recommend EJ for an active family, who jogs or walks daily. Kids are fine, although I think older kids may better handle his "activeness".  A picture is coming soon, when I can get a good one. He's gorgeous. Also, EJ is going to the vet on Saturday, the 24th, for an update on vaccines and heartworm test. I expect no problems.
