Ellie 04-402 [1]

Ellie is here, and what a wonderful girl she is! Ellie is a 1 year old golden/lab mix, red in color, and fairly small (about 55 pounds). She'll be great for someone looking for a smaller dog. She's very sweet...loves petting and being by people. Ellie is also very gentle -- she's been wonderful with my kids. She jumps up to greet them, but doesn't put her paws on them as she seems to know that would be too rough. Ellie met my other two dogs, and dealt with their doggy growls and establishment of authority with no problems at all. Now, she's having a ball playing with my beagle (he's in heaven having found a new playmate!).

Ellie was a little smelly when she arrived, and although she wasn't thrilled about it, she did a nice job being calm in the bathtub. Ellie needs to be spayed, so we'll get into the vet as soon as possible for that. We're going to work on housetraining a bit. Although her paperwork said she was housetrained, she's had a couple of accidents here so far, so we're going back to the basics. My guess is that I have simply not learned her signals yet.

We'll be off to the vet as soon as possible, and after that, Ellie should be ready to go. Ellie told me that her biggest Christmas wish is her very own forever home with lots of snuggles and love to share!
