We'd like you to meet one of our newest members to the RAGOM Family---Princess Fancy Pants!
Fancy 11-174 and her sister Sweety 11-175 were surrendered to RAGOM so they could live out their Golden years in a very Golden way! Formally an outside barn girl, this "retired" 9 yr old poster PB Golden Girl has landed safely in RAGOMLAND. To say Fancy loves attention is an understatement! Fancy met the transport team and our whole crew of dogs at home with nothing but licks and love!!! Fancy LOVES LOVES LOVES any attention you will give her and will remind you she is in need with a Golden nose nudge to any part of your body! She also loves to bury her head in-between your knees and will stand there as long as you are willing to let her.
On the way home from the farm, we were able to get the girls into the vet for a check-up. Fancy weighed in at 76 lbs. (norm is probably 70lbs), she received her shots, did blood work (all in good range) and received meds for a double ear-infection. Both girls were unaltered and would need to be spayed. During Fancy's exam, a few questionable lumps were found---one the size of a plum by her mammary gland and so an urgency was placed on her spay so the lumps could be removed and tested. Fancy enjoyed a day and a half of fun at our home before heading to the vet for her surgery.

From the Barn to the Pool...ahh the "Good Life" begins!

Precious Princess Fancy

Classic Cuddle Bug!
I felt so bad having to bring her into the vet Monday morning--but luckily she was in the very best hands of Dr. C and the crew at the VCA! After enduring 4 hours under the knife to remove the masses and be spayed, Fancy spent the night and we picked her up this morning. Due to the size of one of the lumps that was removed, Fancy has a pretty large opening that will need extra attention and time to heal well. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers during her recovery and for "good news" from the lab regarding both lumps that were removed. Fancy's chest x-ray was clean so we are hopeful that the lumps are non-cancerous. If you are looking for a doggie to sponsor---Ms. Fancy Pants is more than a deserving candidate. Her surgery was quite expensive due to the invasive nature and so any help you can give is so appreciated!
Fancy is resting comfortably now---will need bandages replaced every two days for the next 14 days and she is on limited exercise----I sure hope Dr. C explained that to her----she already jumped the baby gate, so the crate is her new home until she is healed. As you can see....she's not too happy about it. Giving Foster Mom the treatment for sure. :)

Not happy with the dumb cone!
We will keep you posted on our Princess Fancy Pants...and please send all your good vibes our way!
