We have been fostering Finch for a week now and have enjoyed him so much! Finch is a beautiful Golden mix with a blocky head, a fluffy golden coat, huge eyes and a slightly black-tinged muzzle. He is 5-1/2 years old and weighs 75 pounds. The vet thought he could lose about 10 pounds. He's very mellow and has perfect house manners... truly a sweetheart of a dog.
As you can see, Finch is a returning RAGOM boy. He was surrendered after he nipped a 9-month old baby in his home. Obviously this is a very serious situation, and while his family loved him very much, they made the difficult decision to give Finch a chance to find a quieter home without children. We have no doubt that we can help Finch accomplish just that, as he has so many wonderful qualities.
Here are some fun Finch facts:
- Healthy and up to date on shots
- Walks nicely on an Easy Walk harness
- Well-trained - knows hand signals for sit, come, lay down
- Likes cats - has lived with cats before
- Likes other dogs
- Takes treats like a gentleman
- Likes to play "hide and seek" (bIg tail wags for that one!)
- No resource guarding
- Never jumps on beds or furniture
- Completely house-trained and non-destructive with free-roam of house
- Loves brushing, petting, snuggles and belly rubs
- Is not a runner
- No storm anxiety
- Doesn't beg
- Trained on an invisible fence
Finch is affectionate, mellow, quiet and loyal. If you think you'd like to meet this handsome guy, please let your placement advisor know. Finch looks forward to meeting you!
