With the new year so close, Gus told me he'd really like a new page to go with it!!

Gus is approximately 18 months old and has been with RAGOM since May of 2007.  In that time, he has been in two different foster homes, a doggy daycare, and also stayed for 6 weeks with the St. Paul K9 Unit.  You may ask, "Why?" has he been bounced around so much and not yet adopted?  Well, from what we know of Gus, he is a high-energy, bouncy, puppy.  Not unusual for his age!  The one exception for Gus is that he seems to have difficulty learning due to his high levels of energy.

Both of Gus' foster homes, the doggy daycare, and the St. Paul K9 unit were sad to see him go.  But all had the same thing to say about him and that is that he just can't seem to focus long enough to learn.  He seems to be anxious and unable to calm himself down enough to put his mind to anything.

All that being said, Gus is truly a handsome and smart boy.  He enjoys playing ball, running, and even learning new things - it just takes him a little longer.

Gus' perfect home would be one in which he can be the only child (fur or otherwise).  Due to his lack of doggy social skills, he does not do well with all other dogs and is unpredictable with which dogs he will tolerate and which he won't.  Also, since we have no history of him with kids and he is a bouncy, jumpy pup, we will only place him with families who have kids over the age of 12.

Gus will need a family who enjoys taking classes with him to help him learn, someone who enjoys lots of exercise (running, fetch, etc...), and someone who can understand his quirks enough to love him.  This pup has been through a lot this last year and he is worth taking a chance on!  Once he learns that you love him and you are his to keep forever, he will give you that love back 10-fold.
