We've been getting to know Mr Harley for a couple weeks now so I guess it's time we shared him with the rest of RAGOM land.
Harley came to us as a 16 week old puppy that was surrendered from a breeder due to a heart defect, & was thus unbreedable & unadoptable. He was small for his age but also had an unusually large abdomen. He was then seen by the vet who took X-rays, brought him UTD & found a horrible case of worms & an ear infection. He was then referred to a veterinary cardiologist. A very extensive work up was done which found that his "heart defect" was a normal puppy heart murmur that he will most likely grow out of, & that he had very low protein levels & was most likely malnourished. He was given dewormer, meds for his ear infection, lots of good food & loving & is a new little man. He weighed in originally at 19 pounds & I would guess he has gained 5 pounds since, & will be neutered & finishing his deworming next week.
Harley is your typical golden puppy. Adorable, of course, sweet as can be & very smart. He gets along with everyone, except for the vacuum cleaner. He even likes to give the cat a bath. He knows his name, is 90% potty trained, gets free roam while we are home & is crated while we are gone. He is quite the retriever....this morning I found 5 different shoes, 3 tennis balls & a few various dog toys on his bed....Harley the Hoarder busy at work.
