12/9/06: Happy Birthday Hope!

Princess Hope celebrated her 8th birthday this week by coming back to RAGOM!

Due to a family crisis, Hope and her fur sibling Sidney 06-542, were surrendered to RAGOM. Their owners wanted the girls to have the love and attention that they were unable to give them. Hope cried when we dropped Sidney off at her foster home in Delano but she is adapting very quickly to her new fur siblings.

Hope is a beautiful blonde purebred Golden who is quiet and mellow. She is a perfect representation of this breed's gentle and loving disposition. She is content to follow us around the house or just to lie at our feet as we go about our daily chores. She gets along very well with our two resident dogs and the house is amazingly quiet with the three dogs! All we've heard from Hope is some gentle purring noises when she's happy!

Hope was a perfect lady when we bathed her today. She gracefully tolerated 5+ brushing sessions to remove mats and excess hair. Wow, does she look stunning now! She has some beautiful graying on her face and stomach and looks like an elegant princess! She was so good when we cleaned her ears that she makes our own dogs seem horrible!

Hope grew up in a family with 3 young children. She gets along with dogs very well but has never met a cat so we don't know about them. She saw a ferret at the vet's office today but didn't bat an eye at it.

We took Hope to the vet today and she is now up to date on her shots and got a completely clean bill of health. Her hips are good, ears and skin healthy, and almost a perfect weight at 73 lbs. She was a little shy around the doctor at first but quickly warmed up after getting treats and attention.

The ideal family for Hope would be someone who has time to give her all the love and attention that she deserves. In return, she will be your best friend and companion during the Golden years of her life. Whoever adopts Hope will be very lucky indeed because she is one of the sweetest senior dogs we have ever met!
