Jessie 06-360 [1]

8/29/06: Sweet Jessie is one of several dogs who was surrendered to RAGOM by a backyard breeder/puppy mill. She is three years old and just a tiny button of a girl, weighing in at only 48 pounds (and I have no idea where she is hiding a few of those pounds). I have to keep reminding myself that she is not a 6 month old pup, as that is what she looks like!

Jessie has not lived in a house before or been a family dog. Jessie looks to Bishop, our resident Golden, for guidance on how to act in the house and as a true member of a family. She has decided that he has pretty good judgement and anything he does is probably OK. Following his lead, she has decided that the best place in the world is laying on the couch -- preferably with your head on a throw pillow. When my husband took Bishop with him on a quick errand this evening, she became nervous and unsure of herself. She will do best with another dog in the house to teach her the ropes and be her companion. Jessie's forever home could also have cats, as she could not care less about the two in our household.

We are still just getting to know Jessie and letting her explore the house and all the activity that comes with it at her own pace. We will write more as we get to know her better.
