Watch Kaycee's video [2]!

Kaycee is a sweet 9 year old female that has recently changed from being an outdoor dog to a special RAGOM girl. She made the trip about a week ago & has since settled in quite nicely. She made the trip from South Dakota without any difficulty, was initially over-nighted at the vet in the south metro before making her way into foster care. She has since been living with my 3 Goldens (2 females, ages 4 & 5, and a 5 year old male), along with my 3 kids (ages 5, 11 & 14) & has been blossoming!!

Kaycee is approximately 80 lbs (& could lose about 10 of that, like most of us!!), & is a beautiful darker red with a graying face. Unfortunately my camera is not operating (& changing the battery didn't help!) so it may be a bit before I am able to get a picture posted. She is now current on all vaccinations, fecal & heartworm negative, & microchipped. She has an appointment to be spayed later next week, so wish her luck with that. Kaycee is the quietest dog I have ever met...I haven't heard a peep out of her yet, she is so unassuming & is just a sweetpea. She is about 90% housetrained & as we figure each other out that will likely improve. She does not counter surf, nor get into the garbage, nor chew on anything inappropriate. She gets along great with all 3 of my dogs & my 3 children. She goes up & down the 2-3 stairs it takes to go in & out the house but she still hasn't ventured up or down the main flights of stairs. Kaycee is very well behaved, walks nicely on the leash & stays off the furniture.

Kaycee was initially very scared of our hardwood floors but has since overcome that. She needs a little work at taking treats nicely, but has no resource guarding issues & we found that she loves the Kong filled with peanut butter...yum!! She prefers to leave the room when the vacuum cleaner comes out, but so would I, if the truth be told!! Kaycee also hasn't shown any interest in playing with toys or stuffed animals, but she has been caught stealing the dirty socks (or maybe she was just helping to take them to the laundry basket??!).

Kaycee is one of those dogs that you simply add a bit of food & water, give lots of love & attention to, & she will return it ten-fold. If you are interested in this senior gal, contact placementatRAGOM [dot] org.
