Profile
Miss Fancy arrived last Sunday evening. She was rescued from a puppy mill in MO. She is very timid and cautious of just about everything. It will take some getting used to on living the good life. It took her a few days to finally eat. She is 7 years old, 57 lbs. and red in color. She has met my 2 resident dogs, will sniff them if they come by her, but doesn't appear to be too interested in them. I have been able to take food away from her with no problem. I did offer her a raw hide but she had no interest. She has been to the vet and is UTD and heartworm negative. She will be spayed soon. She is crate trained but I have only used it at night simply because she feels some security with it. She has likely spent most of her life in some sort of cage. I would like her to get more comfortable hanging out with the rest of the us (humans and canines). She prefers to hang out in my dining room away from the action. Once in awhile she will poke her head in another room to see where we are. She did have a bath the other day and while I don't think she cared for it she did tolerate it. So far she has been fine around my kids, but they are older. My neighbor's little boys were out one day in the backyard and with all the commotion, running around, and yelling they did she was frightened. I think that it will be important in her forever home to have a fenced-in yard (no invisible fences) and it would be great for her to have a canine companion to help her along. We will try to get a picture up soon and more to come on this pretty girl.
