Lily 13-296 [1]

10/14/13:

Lily May Anne came into RAGOM recently from her surrendering owner with her brother. Jasper 13-295, and is very quiet and laid back. She sometimes will spook easily from strange and sudden noises. Lily is 6 1/2 years old and is a pure bred golden retriever. She is so sweet that it pains me to see the state her ears are in. She is on some anti-inflammatory drops as well as some antibiotics at this point. We have a recheck with the vet to see how they are doing on Monday 10/14. She is so sweet and just loves being in the same room with you. She and Jasper 13-295 were in a place where they weren't with the family as much as they are now so they have adjusted very well to this new life with the family. She is curious about everything around her and she really enjoys playing with the resident dog Cesar. She does listen to general commands, Sit, Down, Stay (kinda-we're working on this one), and she is very good about going in the kennel. She has not had any accidents in the house and will go outside with the rest of the pack. She loves to be outside on her leash. We are working on her recall skills and so for the time being a fenced yard would be a good idea as well as a good exercise regimen. Lily is also learning to walk better on a leash. The first few days she would pull until she would choke herself. Also, whenever we go on a walk by ourselves she does better than if her brother Jasper is along. We've started Lily on Glucosamine tablets to be sure she continues her youthful energy and her joints are good. Lily and Jasper have been together her entire life so if they could find a forever home together that would be absolutely amazing. She would definitely have an adjustment period if she were to be separated from Jasper.

I will have more updates on this sweet girl soon hopefully with good news that her ears are getting better. She is such a laid back dog that I hope we can get her ears under wraps so she can enjoy just being a dog!
