This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Linus is a healthy, active two-year-old Golden Retriever mix with a sweet disposition. He weighs 49 pounds, and is neutered and up-to-date with vaccinations. He does not have a tail; it appears to have been docked as a puppy. He gets along well with other dogs and seeks attention from humans. Although he is sweet as sugar and kid-friendly, we want to place him in a home with no kids under 8 years old to give him some peace, since he came from a breeder/hoarder. He has not been tested with cats.

His main need, in addition to love, is exercise and activity, whether that be playing with another dog, jogging or hiking, daily trips to a dog park, etc. He is playful with balls and other dogs, enjoys riding in a vehicle, and probably would love to swim, if given the chance. Linus loves to be with you – he follows me around the house, but is careful not to be in my way, and lays calmly off to the side or plays quietly and chews a bone. He absolutely melts if you sweet talk to and pet him. He does not get on furniture or into the garbage, is house-trained, sleeps on a dog bed, and has free roam. He barks when strangers pass by the house.

Linus wants to fit in and spends a lot of time watching what is going on. He is a quick study, learning what is and is not okay. Although he has chewed some inappropriate items, he is immediately responsive when told that was not okay, and accepts being redirected to a Nylabone. This is where exercise plays an important role with a young dog -- "a tired dog is a good dog." Linus is going to make a great dog for some lucky family!
