Hello everyone! Allow me to introduce Logan.
Logan is a 2 year old male (neutered) Golden/Lab mix. He came into RAGOM because his previous owners landlord did not honor the verbal permission previously given to allow a dog. He was tearfully surrendered, but RAGOM will take good care of him and find him a forever home.
Logan is very fit and healthy. He has no apparant medical issues at all but will be going to the vet to update some vaccinations and will get an exam at that time. We are told he weighs 57 pounds but we'll check that too at his appointment. He has a shortened stubby tail. I cannot determine if it was intentionally cropped, injured, or perhaps he was born with it.
He has lots of nervous energy at this time. It's quite normal for a dog to be anxious when they first come into foster care. He is in a completely new enviornment, with unfamiliar people and an unfamiliar resident dog too. It will take a few days for him to feel safe and begin to relax. He has been with us for a mere 24 hours as I write this.
What I know about him so far is that he's a velcro dog that loves to snuggle. He's in great athletic shape and would make a fine running partner or agility dog. He is fond of tennis balls and enjoys chasing them. He has a desire to please and is treat motivated. He needs some obedience training and needs to learn not to jump up on people. We will be working on these things using only positive motivation. Because he has a strong tendency to jump up on people, I am inclined to suggest that he go to a home without small children. He has not been exposed to cats.
He is getting along just fine with our resident dog. He has not guarded his food or toys and has barked only when our dog does. Logan is completely housebroken and slept quietly in his crate all night.
It's obvious even through his anxiety that he is a sweet boy that will make a wonderful pet.
