Ohhh, Look-it Lovey!Call out my name and I come really wagging my tail.
I had such a long ride to my FP’s house and my FM says I can tell you about me. Thank you transport team, Dennis and Joanne McCarl and Jennifer Johnson for being so generous and bringing me safely to my foster home. I’ll be forever grateful.
I’m a 6 yr. old, 65 lb., PB Golden Girl. I was a momma breeder on a farm in ND but now I’m staying where they have no other dogs but me. Another fur-butt named Abby used to live here cause I can smell her in the spots where I like to lie down. I know that Golden smell so I know I’m safe in this house and I can relax. I have lived my whole life outdoors so I have to learn all new habits and get used to inside sounds I have never heard before. It’s my 4th day here and I’m learning how to be potty trained, what a gentle leader and leash are, how to go on walks and when I get to eat. I am very happy around all adults that come up to me. I haven’t met any kids yet but there a couple of small pesky little bugger fur-butts, both Cavalier-Poo boys, that live next door. They came into MY yard and got right in MY face really barking at me but I stayed above it all and just looked at them. I was a real lady. Finally they gave up and just smelled me.
I have been a very good girl and not shown any kind of aggressions since I have been here. I take treats and food very gently and my FP’s can take things away with not so much as a yip. The SO said I don’t get along with other female dogs except my sisters, but I have to meet some new girls to find out how I act toward them. I sleep all night on a doggie bed right next to my FM’s side of the bed. I have not destroyed one thing since I have been here. I look up to smell things but I do not counter-surf so far. When my FP’s eat dinner I lie right under the table and never even look up to beg for food. That’s pretty good don’t you think? I have not been left alone in the house yet but if I am I will stay in a crate when I am alone for now. I’m really trying cause I like this new golden life and I want it to keep going. I went to the Vet but my FM will tell you about that next.
FM here. Lovey came without Vet records so she has been brought UTD on all shots and now has a Microchip. She has no parasites or worms. We are starting her on Heartgard Plus and also have Frontline for the upcoming tick season. She has a raw nose which we think is the result of rubbing it against a kennel but it is healing and we are watching it carefully. She has a spot on her head which we requested to be looked at and it has been shaved by the Vet to reveal a healing patch of dermatitis. Otherwise her coat is in good condition and is wonderfully soft and silky. She has a scar on the right side of her muzzle and she has a minor heart murmur of 2 on a scale of 1-6 which is not considered a problem by the Vet. She will be spayed on April 21st. She is a very gentle dog aiming to please but still needs training in several things. She wants to be close to her people. If you think you would like to give her a great golden life, please contact your placement advisor and please watch for new updates!
