Maggie 09-384 [1]

We invited Maggie, an 8 yo PB, spayed, UTD, to spend the Labor Day Weekend with us.

We're so happy she graciously accepted because she's been one of the nicest guests we've had all summer.  She's housetrained, has no resource guarding issues, does not counter-surf, walks beautifully on leash and gets along wonderfully with the other three dogs.  Good girl!

Maggie's story is that she and companion dog Lucy, a Sheltie, were left with no one to care for them after their owner unexpectedly passed away.  Maggie and Lucy had been together for eight years so it was very difficult to separate them and now they both are looking for loving forever homes...separately, if necessary, but it would be fantastic if they could reunite with one perfect family (more on that later).

Unfortunately, Maggie was either pampered on "people food" or had free roam of the pantry in her former home because she weighs a whopping 117 pounds whereas she should be at about 75-80 pounds.  So she's now on a well balanced diet that does not include pizza (with sausage & extra cheese), but does involve green beans (plain).

That's it for now...it's time to go outside for some deck time and maybe a swim.  After all, this is a holiday.
