3/26/07: May is a very sweet, but also very scared, 7 ½ year old girl who has had a very stressful life recently.  On Saturday morning she was picked up from a puppy mill and also very, very pregnant.  She then traveled 6 hours to MN.  Saturday night she moved into my house.  Sunday evening she went into labor.  At 6:24 pm she had her first puppy.  At 7:15 pm she had her second.  Then there was a long pause and a trip to the emergency vet.  Then a shot to help her to deliver the pups gave us a pup at 10:41 pm and right away again at 10:48 pm.  Then a long pause again.  Another shot led to a lot of contractions but no pups, so at about 1:15 am it was decided to do a c-section.  4 more pups were born that way for a total of 8 happy healthy puppies!  May is a very, very good mother.  I really enjoy just watching her take care of her babies.  She wasn't so sure about us at first, but every hour it is getting better, to the point that we can even slowly pick up the puppies from her now.
