Profile

07/15/2013:

Let me introduce myself. I am Meggie. I am a Golden Lab mix and I am 5 years old. I only weight 48 1/2 pounds so I am a little thing. I have adapted very well in my foster home. I lived with only one dog and I am not used to being around this many dogs (3 resident Goldens, another RAGOM dog that just got adopted, and a Staffordshire Terrier that is just visiting), but I am getting along with all of them very well. I am a little skittish at times, but Foster Mom says that she thinks that will go away when I really get used to everything since it is all new to me.

I have been to see the good doctor already and I did very well in the car. The good doctor got me up to date with all of my shots, gave me a mircrochip, and then fixed me. But I didn't think that was fair because no one told me that I was even broken so I didn't think I needed to be fixed. I have always heard that if it is not broken, don't fix it!! But Foster Mom tells me that it is a good thing that I got fixed because it will be better for my health so I have settled down about it now. Actually when Foster Mom got me home, I acted like nothing had even happened to to me, so all is well. The good doctor told Foster Mom that I was just the sweetest little thing.

I LOVE people and I am an attention seeker. I am very social. I lean in for loving and I want as much as I can get. They did not know how I was with cats when I came here, but I am just fine with them. Once in a while I will run after them because I think they want to play, but Foster Mom tells me no, so I stop. I really don't think that is fair because I just want to play, but I listen and I do stop.

I have free roam of the house. We are taken out a lot to play outside and do our business. If I have to go at other times, I will let Foster Mom or Dad know by running back and forth to the door and whining. Foster Mom keeps telling me that I am such a good girl.

I follow Foster Mom everywhere and she calls me her shadow. I thought I was a dog, but as long as a shadow is a good thing then I guess I don't mind being called that. She also says that I take the cake for being the sweetest thing ever. Now that is not fair because I do not remember eating any cake. No one gave me any cake.

I haven't been around any kids here yet, but Foster Mom thinks that I would get along with them just fine. I like to play with the tennis balls when I am outside. Inside, I do carry a ball around a lot and I will get the woobies and lay my head on them.

I sleep at the bottom of the bed at night because I want to be near my people. But I really do not take up a lot of space. My previous owners say that I really do need a physical fence. I do not run away, but I do like to go visiting. Also, they say that I like to play in the water and that a water sprinkler is my favorite toy.

If all of this sounds like you just have to have me in your family, please contact your placement adviser and I would love to meet you. You certainly will not be disappointed because I am the sweetest cutey patooty.
