Profile

9/12/07: Hi, my name is Sasha and my foster mom says I'm a real sweetheart.  I came to Minnesota over a week ago from a puppy mill in Arkansas.  I'm 5 1/2 years old and just now finding out that 'Life is Good'.  I go potty outside, I haven't had an accident in almost a week, I like going on walks on a leash, I know my name (now that I have a name and I'm not just a number!), I love going to the dog park and meeting new people and dogs and I love love love being petted, brushed and pampered.  I stay in a crate druing the day while my foster mom is at work, I don't think she trusts me to make all the right choices if I'm free to roam yet.  but I don't have to be crated at night - she just puts up a baby gate at the bedroom door so I stay close by.

I haven't figured yet out what a ball is for, but I'm pretty smart so I'm sure that I'll figure it out pretty soon.  I just need someone to show me.  I love kids, I ignore cats, I'm good with other dogs (no resource guarding of food or toys - of course I'm not sure what toys are, but I'm learning), and I like to ride in the car (I'm not sure about jumping into the car, but once I'm in I love to sit and look out the back window with the wind in my hair).  I'm looking for a forever home that would show me all the wonderful things that I've missed while I was living in a puppy mill and would give me enough love and attention to make up for my lack of attention the first 5 1/2 years of my life.

This is foster mom writing.  Sasha is really becoming a very happy, loving and well adjusted Golden.  She is very social; she walks right up to strangers to be petted.  I've taken her for walks on a leash and she does very well, she pulls a little every so often, but not bad.  I took her to the dog park yesterday for the first time and she really seemed to enjoy it.  I think that she would make a wonderful addition to almost any home.  She is really social for a puppy mill dog, in fact the people that she met yesterday at the park were surprised that she was a puppy mill dog and especially that she had only been out for a little over a week.  She is very gentle with my 1 year old grandson and lets him give her lots of kisses and hugs.  I can't say enough good things about Sasha, she is just one super girl.
