Profile

Please give a big welcome to Morgan. Morgan was found lost and hungry, looking for someone to love him. He's now staying in Iowa, and looking for a forever family. He is a neutered male, no more than 5 years old, who gives lots and lots of kisses.

His coloring is amazing! And his feathering is worth writing home about. He can only get better from here as his malnourishment is corrected. He's fairly well mannered and corrects easily. He is very submissive to the man in the house and the resident dog. He kennels nicely but becomes "stiff" if he's in there very long. He will walk at a heel if he's alone, but not so well if the other dogs are with us. He chases everything with wings and is also very interested in all the deer around the place. He will "fetch" what you throw, just don't expect him to give it back. He's great with the kids and with dogs. He's more interested in the people around him than the food we place in front of him. He's really a nice dog and a joy to foster. He's eager to learn our routines and adapt to the changes in his life. He'll be a wonderful addition to somebody's home. Will it be yours?

Morgan may have a few hip problems. We'll learn more of that as we visit the vet a few times. Right now Morgan walks a little wobbly, like a male comedian in a woman's high heels. He does not seem to be in any pain and has no trouble climbing stairs, jumping onto furniture, chasing chickens (well, he IS a bird dog after all).

Morgan is also very very thin. He is bony even on that beautiful feather-duster tail. He will not eat if our resident dog is within site. He even seems to prefer his food be placed directly on the floor where he can move it around with his nose.

This boy is eager to be loved. He needs a gentle hand and kind words to guide him and teach him that he's worthy of a big meal and warm bed. He's a broken heart ready to be mended. Can you mend him?
