Profile

Hello everyone.  My name is Oliver.  The HART shelter in Brainerd initially took me in and took great care of me.  Thank you HART!  I was named Oliver at the shelter.  Initially, I wasn’t too sure about my new name, but my foster parents have no problem getting my attention now.  When I first arrived at the shelter, my hair was matted and I had some hot spots.  This is no longer a problem, and as you can tell from my pictures I am a handsome boy.  I was initially shy, when I arrived at my foster home.  I have now warmed up to my foster parents and have made friends with the resident dog.  The resident dog does swipe my toys and bones.  However, I don’t really care much.   There are plenty of toys and bones around here to go around.  I am housetrained, and I do great at home with resident dog while foster parents are out.

My foster parents are making sure that I get a lot of exercise and good food.  They think that I have lost weight and have increased my vitality since arriving here.  I guess this is a good thing.  I feel really good and am very happy.  I’m also getting a lot of socialization.  I go to work and a lot of fun places with my foster parents and resident dog.  I don’t bark or jump. I guess this is a good thing.   Actually, my foster parents are wondering if I even have a bark in me.  I just really see no reason to bark.  Quite frankly, resident dog barks enough for both of us.

Foster mom thinks I’m a very large and strong dog.  She is concerned that I might accidently knock over little kids.  There aren’t any little kids around here, so it hasn’t been a problem.  I know that I do like kids though.  I also really like human food.  I monitor all food consumption in the house very closely.  I also like the dog beds at my foster home and see no need to jump on the couch.  I do jump on the bed for some cuddle time with foster mom and dad.  However, I don’t stay long.

I’m going to the Vet on 7/29/08 to get checked out and to get neutered.  Foster mom says it’s not a big deal, but foster dad looks a bit concerned.  I’m looking forward to getting it behind me.  I will let you know how it goes and tell you more about me in a few days.  Thanks for reading about me!

Oliver
