Profile

Riley is a very sweet, loving 2 year old mixed GR.   Riley lost his first owner at 7 months because of a death in the family.  A friendly and sympathetic neighbor took Riley into their home.  They already had a Pomeranian and a Brittany.   Unfortunately Riley and the Brittany did not get along.  A few weeks ago they got into a fight and the owner tried to separate them, got to close and ended up with 7 stitches.  Since Riley was the new comer it was decided that he should go to another home.

Riley is completely housebroken and is not a chewer or destructive even when left alone all day.   We don’t have a crate so he has had free roam since the first day we got him and he has had no accidents or bad behavior.  Riley shows no guarding behavior with his food and will eat out of your hand very gently.  He is UTD on all shots and the vet gave him a clean bill of health.  The SO’s did not take Riley for walks but had a large backyard for the 3 dogs to play in.  Riley has since discovered walks and will now sit by the back door or the back yard gate with a yearning look on his face until we get the lead and take him for a nice long walk around the neighborhood.  Every day is a new day of sights and smells.  He has never been swimming and should be put on his list of things to do this summer.

Riley is very active in spurts.  He likes to play and wrestle with his soft toys for about a ½ hour and then he’ll take a nap.  We have done a lot of playing and wrestling with him and have seen no aggressive behavior or biting.  When someone comes home he gets so excited that he’ll dance in figure 8’s for about 10 minutes and giving you lots of licks and love.  His one bad habit is jumping up when he first sees you because he is so excited.  I don’t know how he would be around cats but because of past behavior I believe he should be the only dog in the house with out small children.  I believe Riley would knock over a small child in his excitement to see them.  Riley had only gone to the groomers or to the vets in a car before so he wasn’t too crazy about rides.  He is learning the car rides also can mean going to parks and visiting other fun places and is starting to get up while we are driving and look around.  The first thunder storm of the season was yesterday and it didn’t seen to effect him at all.

Riley is a clown, a lover and a great companion.
