Welcome Riley to RAGOM world! Riley is an 8 yr old purebred Golden Retriever who has had one loving family all his life. He is a beautiful golden color with a white face and a very unique feature – a cowlick on the top of his head making his fur stick up almost like the Mohawk look.

Here’s what we know about Riley:
- 52 pounds of love
- Neutered
- UTD (up to date on vaccinations) & microchipped
- Current on Heartworm and flee & tick preventives
- Lived with a larger dog
- Guards his food from the SO’s (surrendering owner) dog by growling
- Housebroken – no accidents
- Used to a fenced in yard
- Free roams the SO’s basement when alone
- Handles stairs just fine
- Walks easily on a flat leash
- Sleeps on the floor beside the bed
- Knows sit, stay, down, shake, go, walk
- Loves car rides, walks, naps, being brushed and playing ball
- Loves his people!!!
Riley was surrendered because he began to growl at the young children in his family – ages 2 and 5. The family had a hard time giving him up but they want the best for Riley. So he will need a family without young children.
He had his wellness check on Friday. His tests came back fine except that he will need to go back in two weeks to recheck a slightly low white blood cell count. He could also gain a couple of pounds.
Riley’s a bit skittish in new experiences and around new people. He was curious but a little wary when we first brought him home. But he quickly warmed up and his tail is now always a wagging. Wherever we go, he follows.
Riley has never been crated, doesn’t like baths and is not at all sure about that tie out he has to drag along behind him here at his foster home. He doesn’t get into things or chew up anything. Sounds like the perfect gentleman doesn’t he? We are falling for this guy already. Riley has endless hugs and face licks waiting for his furever family. Please contact your placement adviser if Riley sounds like a good match for your family.
