Sadie 10-050 [1]

We would like to welcome Miss Sadie Sue to the Ragom family. She is a 7 year old pure bred golden retriever. She arrived on Saturday after making the long trip from South Dakota. Many thanks to her surrendering owner for bringing her to the cities and to Karen for delivering her to my home safe and sound.

She has been adjusting slowly but surely. It took a bit to get our pottying schedule down but I do know that she can hold her urine for a very long time. WOW!! At least 18 hours. I could not believe it. She is now more on schedule as I do not have a fence so my dogs have to get used to going out on leash. She was accustomed to this but I forgot that she is a big girl with a very big bladder.

She had a bath on Sunday and was perfect throughout the whole ordeal. Did not mind her toes trimmed or nails clipped. She went to the vet on Monday. She weighs a whopping 103 pounds and needs to drop at least 25 to 30 pounds. She is eating a little less now but she clearly has weight to fall back on so I am not worried. She was fed table scraps at her previous home so we are working very hard on not giving her anything but dog food. She also has a very bad habit of her head very close to your dinner plate when you eat. We are working on this also. She gets a little frustrated but she is learning. She got a clean bill of health with the exception of an ear infection. We are treating that now. She is also heartworm negative. YAY!!!!!!!

She has a perfect personality. So darn cute. If you are interested in her and committed to taking her weight off, please let your placement advisor know. She is a doll and I do not expect that she will be around long. I am still trying to determine what her perfect home would consist of but if you are interested, I certainly would be willing to discuss her with you.
