Suzie is one of 3 littermates that came into RAGOM together. She was born on Nov 11. Her mother is a purebred Golden Retriever and her father is a German Shorthaired Pointer (with some lab in the mix potentially). She is currently 9 pounds, and has had her initial vet visit and first round of puppy shots. She will be spayed in the coming weeks.

She is mostly a dark black - with splashes of white on her nose, chest, and back paws. I included a rather un-ladylike photo of her on her back, so you could see her markings. By the way, she is sound asleep in that photo.

Suzie has had a very busy and overwhelming few days. Getting used to a new house/pack, being separated from her littermates, walking on a leash . . .

She is a sweet pup. Very active and likes to be in right the middle of things. Not so thrilled with airplanes, helicopters, garbage trucks (welcome to life in the big city, sweetie!), the dishwasher, or the barking dogs next door. But she is pretty adventurous and just needs to get used to these new experiences. She may be wary of loud noises, but it took her less than 4 minutes to figure out a way to emancipate herself from the play yard. And boy, was she impressed with herself!!

Suzie alternates between thinking the resident Golden is her momma or her chew toy. So funny to watch the little one following my adult female around and trying to imitate her. The other evening, they were outside to go to the bathroom, and as soon as my female golden squatted, the puppy squatted right next to her.

She is eating well. And is ignoring all of the "puppy" toys in favor of full-size bones and stuffed toys. She took down her first moose this past Sunday, and is facing off with the tiger and other jungle animals. Smart cookie - she has already figured out sitting (and looking cute) to get a treat.

Housebreaking was going well until last night's wind and snow . . . right now, she isn't so sure about venturing into the new powder. We'll keep working on that. And working on getting her comfortable being in her crate alone.

Suzie is very expressive and not shy about letting you know what she wants. Will be fun to watch her grow . . .
