Heads up! Sally is now in Fridley. She’s a beautiful, lean, redhead. I can’t believe how good she looks! When we first got Sally, she was used to living outdoors – had been in a kennel from last spring to these early cold days of winter. We brought her home, did some grooming – what girl wouldn’t want her hair done for Christmas? – and now she’s a real show stopper.
Sally was a product of divorce. She was with a family that had four children, but when push came to shove, Sally was out. A relative took care of her and tried to find her a home, but Sally had to live outdoors and didn’t have much family life after that. Next she went to a shelter in Albert Lea where a kindly vet got her up-to-date with her vital shots. A wonderful person at the shelter took her to her home, but she still lived every day in a crate. When we heard that her teeth were chattering from the cold even with a heat lamp in her kennel, we couldn’t resist.
Today we took Sally to the vet. She checked out great and is a perfect weight at 55.5 pounds. They believe her to be four years old – though we were told she was six. She’s housebroken, goes potty outside in our fenced-in yard, knows a few basic commands, has free roam of our house, and loves everyone she meets – even the vet!
