Profile

Allow me to introduce you to Sam!  Sam is a 4 year old male, weighing approximately 64 lbs.  He is light brown with some pretty feathering in his tail.  He is a very mellow boy.  We go for a short walk in the morning and another short walk in the afternoon.  I think that's all he will handle at this time.  He loves to take naps. Today I found him upstairs in my bedroom all by himself sacked out on my bed! Another one of his favorite places is his kennel; I leave the door open and often he will go in and take a snooze.  He does well around other dogs; he pretty much ignores my cat.  His original family said that he was good with kids; I have not had him around any yet.  During the day I leave him in my office and he has done great--no chewing and no accidents.

Sam does have epilepsy and is on phenobarbitol which seems to control his seizures quite well.  (The cost of phenobarbitol is roughly $15/month) He has been with me a week and he has not had a seizure. He has had his initial vet check and everything looks great.  The vet informed me that it is not uncommon for dogs with epilepsy to have seizues every 4-6 weeks...it has something to do with the natural brain wave cycle. Sam's bottom teeth are worn down pretty far; he has one tooth that is dead.  The vet said that he may be in need of some dental work down the road.

He is a very easy, loving dog...loves to be loved up and yet, loves to be by himself too.  Please consider this wonderful boy!
