And here is Miss Sunni! Sunni arrived on Friday night with about 14 other dogs and also some cats. She came from a high kill shelter in Ohio and her time was up. She was pulled on Thursday, and Friday was her last day in the shelter. Sunni is an "honorary golden" and is a labrador retriever. On Friday night she had some vetting done to get her up to date on some shots and she took it all in stride, tail wagging the whole time. All of the people who transported dogs from Ohio had nothing but good things to say about her: "She is just the sweetest and mellow dog" "She just sat quietly when all the other dogs were a little crazy in the car" and on and on.
Sunni is very sweet and took treats nicely. Her overall physical health is pretty good. We don't know what her past was as she was probably a stray - they tend to be the first to be on "the list" for euthanasia in shelters. She was fine with a younger mix puppy, Apollo, sharing treats with her. She was walking well on a leash Friday without a gentle leader and didn't try to pop my arm out of my socket. Her tail wags slow and steady the whole time you talk to or pet her.
Sunni will be sprung from boarding today and I will update when we get her home and introduce resident dog Cinder to her! The photos here are from the first night, and I'll get some better ones up here today!
