Toby Ed 06-390 [1]

9/16/06: We are temporarily fostering Toby Ed while his regular foster parents attend the RAGOM picnic. He is a sweetie! He weighs about 75 pounds and is 7 years old. He loves to have that Golden paw in your lap and follows us everywhere. He was given up because his family did not have enough time for him. He was living outside and in the garage so he needed lots of bathing and brushing when he came in, but now he looks and smells great. It's amazing what a bottle of shampoo and lots of elbow grease can do :) He pulls some on his leash and loves to ride in the car with his head out the window. He gets along great with both Sunny and Riley (granddog) so seems to like both males and females. He lived with a cat a few years ago. His owner said he was once attacked by a dog so he tends to be submissive toward new dogs. I guess he loves to swim. Doesn't seem to get the idea of fetch, but we'll work on that. He is on thyroid medication twice a day which I give him on a peanut butter cracker and that works great. Toby is a calm laid back sort of guy and seldom barks. His right eye seems to have a little discharge at times so we will get that checked out. Toby responds well to his name and knows "sit". He is perfectly house trained and was left for 4 hours yesterday with Sunny with no problems. He likes chewing on bones sometimes, but isn't really into stuffed toys or balls. We think Toby is a wonderful dog and will make some lucky family very happy. He has not tried to get on the furniture at all and last night when it was thundering he was fine.
