8/24/05: Wyatt is here and we have one word for him and that is S-U-P-E-R-M-O-D-E-L. He is a raving beauty and has beautiful insides to match. We picked him up last night, and he had those doe eyes working it from the start. He rode in the car easily, and met up with my Sadie just great. He is a little leary of the cats, but that's better than eating them :)
Wyatt was born with a special foot. His left front leg is missing the two outside toes. This means that he will limp a little if he is tired or if it has been used a lot. We bought him a special boot that his owners said he needs (he chewed up the last one) and we tried it on tonight. If he walks on tar at all he has to have his special boot on. The pads that are left on that foot are soft, and Wyatt will never be the type of dog that would exercise with his humans (jogging) or go on marathon walks.
He has already been neutered, and is up to date on shots and such. We go in tomorrow for a check up. Tonight we worked for a long time getting mats out of his hair and brushing. He absolutely loved the attention and his coat is all nice now. He does have some mild allergies, and is on medication right now for a belly rash (which I can't see). His previous owners said he has sensitive skin, so we will just watch it. He came with special medicated shampoo, too.
Wyatt was surrendered because his owners didn't have time for him anymore. He has been very loved and socialized, and you can see it in his personality. He is playful and even has a sense of humor. This guy would be awesome to have around all the time, I can tell already. We'll get back with more later.
